Currently the main purpose of this list is to let people interested in the board game Titan contact each other. Initially, I expect this to be a low traffic list. If traffic picks up a lot I will set up a seperate announce list. Some things this list is appropiate for: Announcements about new openings in hand moderated games, organized by people other than myself (Bruno) or Don Woods. Announcements about new servers (or significant changes to old ones) for automatically moderated games. Announcements about Titan tournaments. These can be announced up to twice if the first announcement is more than 2 months in advance of the event and the second is within 2 weeks of the event. Announcements about new Titan web pages or pages that have added significant new areas. This list should not be used to make routine update announcements. Serious strategy discussions. For a general idea of what "good players" think is good strategy see: http://www.desjardins.org/david/titan.txt Before asking a rules question, please look at: http://wolff.to/titan/errata.html Questions about stuff not covered there or about the rulings are OK. Some things this list is NOT appropiate for: Test posts. Do not send post to see if the list is working or to test mail filters. If you think there is a problem with the list send mail to the list owner at titan-owner@wolff.to . Abusive or Obscene language. Binary posts. This includes HTML. The only exception is for digital signatures. If you have images you want people to see, provide a URL for interested parties to fetch them from. Many non-text MIME parts will be stripped automatically. The list should not be used to send messages targetted to specific individuals. If you are having trouble contacting someone on the list and want help trying to send a message to them using a different contact the list owner (titan-owner@wolff.to) for help. While in general I will be slow to take people off the list, I will also be quick to remove posting privileges. If you have doubts about a post just send a copy to me (the list owner) to preview. An exception to the above is people with broken vacation responders. If a vacation responder (or other bot) sends a message to a poster or the list in response to a post, the address corresponding to the responder will be unsubscribed from the list and sent a message describing the incident. For other Titan information you may want to look around: http://wolff.to/titan/ The list has a number of different antispam protections. To see how mail is being blocked at a server level take a look at: http://wolff.to/bruno/antispam.html There are other checks built into the list server as well. For information about why the reply-to header isn't set to the list address please read: http://cr.yp.to/proto/replyto.html http://www.unicom.com/pw/reply-to-harmful.html
